Gunshots that rang out near Eglinton Avenue and Mt. Pleasant Road were the result of an on-street dispute between two groups of men, say police.

Officers responded to a call for the sound of gunshots in the area around 3 a.m. on July 24. According to police, two groups of men were in the Eglinton and Brownlow Avenue area when a dispute occurred.

One or more of the men discharged a firearm, police say.

Officers subsequently found five bullet holes at 240 Eglinton West, an office building just west of Mt. Pleasant.

Anyone with information, specifically taxi drivers in the area, is asked to contact police at 416-808-5300, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
